WHAT IS A CROP & COBBLE SHEAR IN A ROLLING MILL?

Continuous Shear is a special machine, used to cut the TMT bar in high-speed rolling mills to a certain length without cutting the TMT bar. Unlike flying shears operating on the start-stop system, Continuous Shear works in harmony with the rolling process, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted flow. This makes them efficient, especially in a demanding environment.

K.N. Engineering Works, we continuously design shears that combine accuracy, durability and cost-efficiency, helping maintain consistency to steel plants and significantly reducing downtime.

The biggest difference lies in efficiency. Traditional flying sheets require a start-stop mechanism, which causes downtime and more. On the other hand, Continuous Shears cut while the line moves, reducing production breaks and improving output.

90-175 kW also requires very low motor power – 50 kW than traditional shears, which protects huge operational costs. Over time, this creates Continuous Shear for rolling mills in search of long-term influence and maintenance headaches.

Our Continuous Shears are made with characteristics that make a real difference in rolling mill operations. They easily handle the size of the bar from 8 mm to 16 mm, the first cut after another. With strong cover, advanced gear, torque coupling and flywheel-powered efficiency, they are designed to face demanding conditions.
